|---|---|---|
| Basic Attack | Appraisal - Severance | Channels energy through the weapon, performing up to 5 consecutive attacks that deal Cosmos DMG. Handling a sword is the only way I feel in control. |

| Critical Riposte | Flash of Inspiration | Triggers when using Appraisal - Severance after a Critical Dodge. Seizes the opening from the enemy's missed attack and swings the weapon to counter, dealing 1 instance of Cosmos DMG to an area and reducing Break. |
| Skill | Appraise and Engrave | Opening, exposed! Performs 3 consecutive weapon strikes. Leaps into the air to charge. Fires an Esper Cannon that deals 1 instance of Cosmos DMG to an area. Deals an additional 1 instance of Cosmos DMG to the first enemy hit whose level is below Zero's own level. A surreal scene, outlined in slashes, emerges from thin air. |
| Ultimate | Divide by Zero | Sweeps away the unseen lines that connect the Nexus in a dance of blades. Deals multiple instances of Cosmos DMG to an area. I sense an Anomaly Nexus, bound by invisible, silent, intangible ties… All severed in an instant with a single graceful strike. |

How to Get Esper Zero
Zero is unlocked from the start of the game as the main protagonist.
Best Arc (Weapons) for Esper Zero
![]() Day Off | ATK: 512 Sub Stat: Charge Efficiency 33% Increases the wearer's ATK by 30%. Unlocks Arc: Eclipse. Arc: Eclipse — The wearer creates a 40s Eclipse. During the Eclipse, each enemy defeated restores 6 Ultimate Energy, up to 5 times. |
![]() The Rain That Shook the World | ATK: 512 Sub Stat: CRIT Rate 22% Deals 30% increased Cosmos DMG with the wearer's Redirect Skill and Ultimate. Increases the wearer's Cycle Intensity by 36 for 15s after casting a Redirect Skill. Resets the duration when triggered again. |
- Day Off is your best choice in most situations. The Charge Efficiency substat helps you use your ultimate more frequently, and the 30% ATK boost is straightforward damage. The Eclipse effect restores 6 Ultimate Energy per enemy defeated (up to 5 times). You can get this weapon for free through a quest.
- The Rain That Shook the World is another strong option. It gives CRIT Rate as the substat and increases Cosmos damage from your Redirect skill and ultimate by 30%.
Both weapons support Esper Zero's kit. Day Off makes rotations smoother with more frequent ultimates, while The Rain That Shook the World pushes your skill and ultimate damage higher. Pick whichever fits your current gear situation better.

How to Play Esper Zero
Esper Zero is a quick-swap sub-DPS character. He/She (depending on the gender you have selected) doesn't need to stay in the field long, mostly for a few seconds per rotation. But their ability to instantly generate Esper Cycles using the Skill makes them valuable in many team compositions.
Your main job with Esper Zero is simple: fill the Esper Cycle gauge instantly and trigger reactions for your team. While most characters need to land multiple hits or perform perfect dodges to fill this gauge, Esper Zero's skill fills it completely every single time you use it. This means you can trigger Blossom, Remora, and Charge reactions whenever you need them. (When your skill is not on CD)
Here's how you use Esper Zero in combat:
- Swap to Esper Zero from another character when your Support Skill/Appraise and Engrave is ready.
- If you are using Lost Radiance Catridge use your ultimate first (if available) and then your skill. The skill instantly fills your Esper Cycle gauge to 100%.
- Immediately swap to trigger the Esper Cycle.
- Wait for Esper Zero's skill cooldown and repeat the process. You can use other characters in the meantime to continue building damage or setting up for the next cycle.
Esper Zero's playstyle doesn't change much between different content types. Whether you're fighting a single boss or multiple enemies, the rotation stays the same: swap in, use ability (or ultimate + ability), swap out, trigger reactions. Esper Zero's 5-hit basic combo doesn't deal meaningful damage. Using them wastes time that your main DPS should be using instead.
