Neverness to Everness keeps you busy with combat and missions, but once the city opens up, you get to slow things down. Fishing is one of those quiet side activities that's actually worth your time. It earns you money, gives you something relaxing to do, and helps you grow your City Tycoon level. Here's everything you need to know.
How to Unlock Fishing in NTE

Before you can start catching fish in NTE, you need to unlock the fishing system first, from the City Tycoon feature. This happens during the Good Morning Hethereau quest when you talk to Chiz. Once you're in, City Tycoon becomes your hub for all hobbies.
Here's how the unlock order works:
- Level 2 — Race Challenges unlock
- Level 3 — Fishing (Sea Angler) unlocks
- Level 4 — Cafe by Origen unlocks
To level up City Tycoon, you earn Fons by doing hobbies and opening safes around the city. Once fishing is unlocked, go to the City Tycoon menu, open Hethereau Hobbies, pick Sea Angler, and hit Go Fishing. The game will point you to a nearby fishing spot.
How to Fish in NTE

Basically, fishing in NTE is quite similar to fishing in other games. You get to the fishing spot, interact with it, pick your rod and bait, and you are ready to fish!
Here's how the fishing minigame works:
- Tap the hook icon to cast your line.
- Wait a few seconds until a fish bites.
- A green bar appears at the top of the screen. It shifts left and right.
- Your job is to keep the yellow marker inside the green zone using the on-screen controls.
- Keep it there long enough, and the fish tires out.
There is currently a bug that can help you catch fish without needing to reel them in. When you start fishing, position your cursor near the bottom-left corner of the screen, slightly above your UID. Once a fish gets hooked, immediately click to open the chat box.
For some reason, this method bypasses the fishing minigame and guarantees the catch. However, use it at your own discretion, as this could be considered bug exploitation. Consider this more of a “good to know” tip for now.
How to Sell Fish and Get Scale Coins

Once you've caught a few fish, here's how to cash in:
- Open the fishing menu at the bottom of the screen.
- Go to the Fish Hold tab, this is where all your caught fish are stored.
- You can see the value of each fish right there.
- Select a fish and hit Sell to get Scale Coins.
Scale Coins are the fishing currency. You use them to buy better rods and bait, so the more you fish and sell, the better your gear gets.
You can also access Fish Hold from the Sea Angler section in your City Tycoon menu.
The Fish Market

The Fish Market is worth checking every day. You access it through the Sea Angler section in your hobbies menu.
Every day, the market highlights three fish in high demand, and these sell for way more than their usual price. However, you can only sell two of each fish per day, so you're limited to six total fish sales per day in the market.
It's worth keeping an eye on which fish are in demand before you go fishing. If the Silver Arowana is on the list, for example, head to the right spot and stock up.
How to Get Better Rods and Bait

Better gear means you can catch rarer, higher-value fish. To see what's available, you can open the fishing preparations screen and then tap the shopping icon.
Everything costs Scale Coins, so you're essentially reinvesting your fishing earnings into better gear. Not all rods and bait are available from the start, some unlock as your fishing level increases. Keep fishing, and you'll gradually get access to the good stuff.
